Soy Wax Information
We all have seen an uptick in seeing the word “soy” on our candles over the years and not even recognized there was a difference. So, why the big deal over soy wax??? Well first let me provide some details on other types of wax typically found in candles.
1) Paraffin wax: this is what you find at most big box retail stores (including the one where everyone loves the 3-wick candles, if you know you know). Paraffin is derived from petroleum aka fossil fuel. This type of wax is not as sustainable and is the one that typically gives people headaches because of it origin.
2) Bees wax: I personally would prefer not to use, cause that is taking away a home environment from one of the most important creatures on this planet. Saves the Bees, please and thank you!
3) Coconut wax: this is a great wax to use and is sustainable, but I just could not find a supplier who also sold other items I needed. I just wanted to cut down on my carbon footprint.
SO back to soy…. SOY Wax: this is a vegetable wax and is sustainable, so we are not hurting any eco-systems. It is also a clean burning wax, so it is less likely to cause headaches and soot. I can also bulk this in with my other supply needs to cut down on carbon footprints.
